Ex-Pinoy Big Brother housemate Kisses Delavin was only 19 when she faced the TWBA golden mirror in a 2017 episode. She was young but her heart carried so much weight and her words so much wisdom. Watch her muse about life and starting fresh in this throwback video.
Veteran host Boy Abunda asked Kisses to face the mirror and say everything she wanted to tell herself. And as if the mirror had magic, Kisses felt bold enough to wear her heart on her sleeve. “Kisses, tao ka lang,” she started.
Then, she would encourage herself to acknowledge her own feelings and realize that it’s normal to feel a lot of things. “Alam ko marami kang nararamdaman – anger, sadness, hatred – pero you should accept na ang tao maraming nararamdaman. You should accept na hindi ka masamang tao dahil lang marami kang nararamdaman.”
Kisses then told her reflection to accept the pain she felt and more important, forgive and forget because she’s always given a chance to start anew. “You learn that every day is a new day to start a whole new life. Every day is a new day to let go of everything that pulled you down.”
“Today is the day that you rise back up and say to yourself, ‘I can do this. Even if nobody believes in me, I believe in me,’” she ended with a smile.
