Up and coming young actresses Kira Balinger and Mutya Orquia dropped by Tonight With Boy Abunda on Tuesday, August 27 and talked about their new teleserye and their experiences in showbiz.
They are both starring in the new teleserye Pamilya Ko alongside JM de Guzman, Arci Munoz, Sylvia Sanchez, and Joey Marquez. They shared that the Mabunga family in the show is composed of eight siblings.
Boy Abunda challenged the girls to identify their fellow Pamilya Ko stars through a game. They had to wear a blindfold and guess the fruits presented on the table since their names in the show are all after different fruits. The Mabunga siblings are comprised of Chico (JM De Guzman), Pongky (Raikko Mateo), Cherry (Mutya Orquia), Persi (Jairus Aquino), Beri (Kiko Estrada), Apol (Kid Yambao), Peachy (Maris Racal) and Lemon (Kira Balinger).
Kira shared that their teleserye will show various Filipino values and manners. “’Yung pagmamahal po talaga ng isang family,” Mutya said. Their new teleserye, she said, will emphasize that the love for family should never be forgotten.
Unknown to some, Mutya has been part of Goin’ Bulilit for six long years. Sadly, Goin’ Bulilit aired its final episode last August 4 after 14 years. “Lahat po nami-miss ko,” Mutya said when asked what or who she misses the most in the show. She eventually admitted that she used to have a crush on fellow bulilit Harvey Bautista. She revealed that Harvey knows about her crush on him since fellow cast members often teased them on set. “Sana po ‘wag mo na lang panuorin ‘to,” Mutya jokingly said when asked what she wanted to say to Harvey now.
Netizens have dubbed Kira as the new hugot queen following her cryptic tweets on Twitter. She revealed that she usually becomes emo when it’s raining and so, her tweets were borne out of humor and hugot culture. Kira admitted that she had once been in a relationship with a Kapamilya star.
The King Of Talk confirmed if her ex’s name starts with the letter R. Netizens have speculated that Hashtag member, Ryle Santiago, has once been linked to Kira in the past. “Matuto po tayong mahalin muna ang sarili atin,” she said as advice to teenagers nowadays who jump quickly into relationships without thinking twice.
And to end the show, they played TWBA’s Fast Talk. “If it’s meant to be, it will be so let it be,” Kira answered as her motto in life. While Mutya said, “You don’t need to be perfect, just be yourself.” Mutya admitted that KathNiel is her favorite love team while Kira named LizQuen as hers. Consequently, Enrique Gil is Kira’s celebrity crush while Mutya named Jin from famous K-Pop idol group BTS. They both answered that, “Love is pamilya ko.”
