Heartthrobs JM De Guzman and Kiko Estrada portrayed brothers who often got into each other’s nerves in the TV series Pamilya Ko. As Chico and Berry, respectively, the two eldest sons constantly tried to compete with one another in terms of winning their parents’ love, validation, and ultimately getting the throne as the leader of the brood.
In real life, JM and Kiko have a friendlier and more relaxed relationship. They definitely did not show any trace of the on-screen rivalry in this Tonight with Boy Abunda visit. They even worked together to show Tito Boy some mixed martial arts techniques. JM’s character is an MMA practitioner, and he sometimes used his skills when he got into fights with Kiko’s character. The King of Talk willingly volunteered as JM and Kiko’s MMA trainee in the fun segment.
Aside from the quick workout, the two Kapamilya stars also reacted to some revelations by their families and friends. According to JM’s family, he once got involved in a brawl in high school and was injured when his opponent hit his head with a rock. JM recounted the story, saying he was simply trying to come in rescue for a friend that time. Knowing his father would get mad, JM reasoned out getting injured due to a break dancing activity in school to spare himself from his Dad’s punishment.
JM also revealed selling burgers in high school to earn extra allowance. But, he unfortunately lost all his customers to a friend who competed with him in his mini business. Meanwhile, Kiko admitted making a scene in a hospital as a young boy due to his fear of needles or injection. Kiko eventually learned to cope with this fear.
