On Monday, February 10, Solicitor General Jose Calida filed a quo warranto petition in the Supreme Court based on the alleged violations on the franchise of ABS-CBN Corporation and its subsidiary, ABS-CBN Convergence.
Boy Abunda discussed the appeal on a live TWBA episode aired on the same day. He mentioned about the official statement released by ABS-CBN, quoted, “We did not violate the law. This case appears to be an attempt to deprive Filipinos of the services of ABS-CBN”.

Tito Boy turned quite emotional as he reflected on how the company, where he already rendered 20 years of service, has become a huge part of his relationship with late mother, Nanay Lesing. While trying to hold back the tears, the veteran host shared how his mother’s worry was always relieved with the certainty that he is in a safe place even outside home. “Wala hong ginawang masama ang ABS-CBN at ilalaban natin ‘to nang maayos. We will continue to do what is right. You know that in your heart, Nanay,” Tito Boy’s message for his Nanay in heaven.

He added that they are lucky enough to be surrounded by supportive people.
