“I want to cross borders,” John Mark said when asked about the unconventional choice of outfit. The TNT Year 3 second placer believes that a person’s worth is not determined by the clothes he/she has on. “When women wear pants, they are labeled as powerful. But, when men wear skirt or gowns, they are labeled as disgusting. I want to prove that you can wear whatever you want as long as wala kang natatapakang tao”, John Mark asserted.
While all the other contenders’ end goal was to emerge as the champion, John Mark created a ‘saga’ of his own by using the Tawag ng Tanghalan as a platform for self-awareness and self-love. These are the trophies that John Mark eyed since the beginning. “My journey was not about winning but finding myself”, the pride of Cavite shared. With the liberating feeling he got through the crowd’s positive reception and the standing ovation given by the hurados, John Mark has indeed achieved the kind of victory he was longing for. After a long time, John Mark felt completely liberated and proud of himself. “I’m starting to love myself”, John Mark said in absolute contentment.
In the Fast Talk segment, John Mark mentioned his powerful voice as the sexiest thing about him. He named Ogie Alcasid as the most intimidating hurado while he showed appreciation for singer Moira dela Torre. John Mark revealed that he easily falls in love. Christina Aguilera’s “Beautiful” is his life’s current theme song while he would still opt for “Huwag na Huwag Mong Sasabihin” as a piece for his last performance in his life.
