Former actor Isko Moreno defies political empire and dynasty as he manages to bag the post as Manila Mayor in the 2019 elections. Despite this victory, Isko knows how to keep his feet on the ground and look back on the people who molded him the way he is today.
“From basura to glitz and glamour,” Manila Mayor-elect Isko Moreno says as he describes his life journey in a few words during his TWBA guesting. Isko talks about a few of his political agenda such as creating a film festival in Manila aiming to celebrate the artistry of showbiz, the industry he will never let go of. More so, he desires to promote gender equality and by doing so, Isko knows he will be able to transform Manila’s image from tough to tender, and dark to vibrant.
The newly elected Mayor is game and honest as he plays along the Fast Talk; Shout Out Edition. Using a megaphone, Isko looks every inch a dignified politician, but instead of laying down his platform, Isko uses the megaphone to give short messages to several people.
To his childhood friends: “Mayroon na kayong kaibigan na Mayor”
To those voted and supported him along the way: “Maraming salamat at pagbubutihin ko”
To the street vendors along Manila: “Magkaisa na tayo dahil ang kalye ay para sa lahat”
To those business establishments polluting the Manila Bay: “Humanda na kayo dahil makikiisa ako sa DENR. Ipasasara ko rin kayo!”
To the corrupt government officials: “Magligpit na kayo ng banig!”
To his wife: “I love you!”
To the girls bound to wooed by son, Joaquin: “Ingat kayo dahil parang ako ‘yan”
To the guys planning to pursue his daughter, Frances: “Mayor ang Tatay no’n ah!” Isko says after clearing his throat to appear more authoritarian
