Paolo Ballesteros guested on the August 26 episode of Tonight With Boy Abunda and talked about how he started his make-up transformation videos, issues about gender, his love life and his upcoming movie.
While others might know him from his trending make-up transformation videos online, Paolo shared that he’s always been good at drawing and so, he tested out his talent in drawing when a friend sent him a video of a girl using make-up to transform herself to a celebrity.
He attempted to transform into Angelina Jolie during his first make-up transformation, but he ended up looking like seasoned actress, Eula Valdez. He revealed that his most favorite transformation was when he looked like Angelina and Julia Roberts.
“Parang three weeks ko pinractice,” he admitted that Beyoncé was the hardest one to imitate and transform into. Tito Boy asked him who he was underneath all those layers of make-up in which he replied, “I keep to myself, sa bahay lang ako… tahimik.” Paolo revealed that he’s just like everyone else who prefers to be alone and to go straight home after a long day of work.
Paolo admitted that he doesn’t believe in gender labels and was forced to answer the question about his sexuality to finally silence his haters. “Hindi ko naman tinatago ‘yung ginagawa ko,” he shared that he’s always been open about his life and so, people can speculate all they want but he knows his truth and he will stand by it.
Paolo proceeded to answer questions about his love life. “Mabilis akong ma-fall,” he said that he has loved too many people in the past to mention since he falls in love quickly and usually ends up the one heartbroken. He denied that he’s ever fallen in love with a fellow actor before. “Seloso ako. Loyal kasi ako,” he said admitting that he’s easily jealous when he’s in a relationship.
He added that we shouldn’t expect too much from our partners because it will only cause us hurt in the end. “I’m happy and I’m good,” Paolo said as he noted that he’s in a good state of mind currently.
Paolo stars in the Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino 2019 entry “Panti Sisters” alongside Christian Bables and Martin del Rosario. Paolo shared that “Panti Sisters” is a story about acceptance of the LGBTQ+ community. “Tinatanong pa ba ‘yan?” he jokingly said when asked who among his co-stars is the most beautiful in real life. While he shared that Martin is the kindest of them all.
In true TWBA fashion, Paolo played Fast Talk to end the show. He chose smelling good over being fairly skinned. “Durog,” he jokingly said when asked to choose between salt and pepper. Even Paolo couldn’t resist Piolo Pascual’s charm and chose him over Coco Martin and Jericho Rosales. He also chose Tito Sen (Tito Sotto) even though the choices were only Vic Sotto and Joey De Leon. He revealed that he’ll prepare Dalagang Bukid if ever the president visits his house. “Matagal na,” Paolo said when asked when he was last kissed. He also said he considers his daughter as his greatest achievement. He shared that the late Dolphy remains as the funniest person in the Philippines. “Hindi ako mahilig sa chocolates,” sex is the definite answer for him. “Sex ulit,” he jokingly said another round of sex is better than sex.
