Kapamilya star Enchong Dee considers running his restaurant business a breather from showbiz. “Sabi ko nga ‘yung pag-aartista minsan parang sine-seclude ka sa mga tao as much as possible to maintain this and that. Ito, I’ll get your receipt, I’ll get your bill, I’ll get your orders. There’s a close encounter with your customers. You get to talk to them, they get to know you. Naiintindihan mo and you get to apply it to that certain business, which is restaurant,” he said in a past episode of Tonight with Boy Abunda.
Enchong admitted that running a business is a profitable investment and a good fall back should he decide to leave or take a break from showbiz, “It’s good money. It’s something that I would do even after I decide, like, in the future… Food is the future.”
While he really can’t predict the future, Enchong does not plan to grow old in showbiz, “Ito na naman ako, me and my big mouth. But I don’t plan kasi to stay very, very long. I mean, I can take a break or leave.”
Veteran host Boy Abunda commented that although making plans is a good thing, life in showbiz is still unpredictable, “It’s not for you to say. It’s okay to plan. Kung sa akin, iyon ang aking nakikita. But life is full of surprises. Hindi mo talaga masasabi. There’s a certain point na parang, okay na ako, biglang dadating.”
