Pinoys have a penchant for the elderlies, and this may be the reason why the public loved Criza Ta-a while she was inside the Pinoy Big Brother house. The former housemate, now actress, is a certified Lola’s girl and doesn’t shy away from sharing stories about her humble roots. Watch her express her unconditional love for her grandmother, Lola Wilma, in this throwback video from TWBA.
Criza was raised by her grandmother but she said there was never a time she hated her biological mom. She would grow up aware of why it was their setup. She would also witness her grandma’s sacrifices scavenging plastic bottles and repairing umbrellas to feed them. It was a difficult life but it taught her how to be strong and made her love her ‘lola’ even more.
So, when asked her wish for that year’s Christmas, Criza turned emotional and said she wouldn’t ask for anything but a long life for Lola Wilma. She further talked about her fear of losing Lola Wilma, the most important person in her life. “Mawala na lahat, huwag lang siya. Siya ‘yung buhay ko,” she said.
Criza knows she wouldn’t be the feisty and grounded young lady she is if not for Lola Wilma’s love. However, not everyone would understand why she has such a bold fighting spirit. To some PBB housemates, she appeared bossy.
Also in this episode, Criza proved her no-fuss attitude by not wasting time clearing up her reputation, admitting that she’s indeed bossy. Veteran host Boy Abunda commented that her pluck is probably influenced by the need to toughen up to survive in the outside world.
