Viewers of morning drama series Nang Ngumiti ang Langit have surely been impressed, perhaps infuriated at the same time, with actress Cristine Reyes and her sterling performance as Katrina. Even Cristine’s daughter, Amarah, questions why her mother would dare hurt and scream at an innocent child; referring to Cristine’s malevolent scenes with Sophia Reola or Mikmik in the teleserye.
To clarify things in her daughter’s fragile little mind, Cristine would often bring Amarah in the set to make her fully understand that everything she sees in the small screen is nothing but acting. When Amarah started seeing Cristine doing kontrabida scenes in flesh, the child’s curiosity was replaced with admiration for her mother’s craft. In fact, Amarah now dreams of becoming an actress as well.
The interview turned sentimental when Cristine talked about her latest film “Untrue” which tackles the concept of insincere love. The actress even got more emotional when she revealed that she has already experienced receiving fake love and getting lied to a lot of times. She considers dishonesty as betrayal and believes that it is a tough facet of love that destroys a relationship. Cristine added that a love that started with lies has nowhere to go but end in failure.
Heartache is evident in the actress’ eyes but she knows she has to remain strong for Amarah’s sake. As much as possible, Cristine hides her tears from Amarah. “Kasi gusto ko, makita ako ni Amarah as someone who would stand up for her,” Cristine shared while wiping her tears away.
Despite the pain, Cristine never questioned God’s will. She understands that God will never place her in a situation she won’t manage to handle. Cristine prays for inner peace instead.
To lighten up the mood, Boy Abunda requested Cristine to play the Jojowain o Totropahin game. She placed Marco Gumabao in the ‘Totropahin’ category because of age gap, so as Xian Lim as respect for Kim Chiu and RK Bagatsing as well.
Cristine raised the ‘Totropahin’ board for Gerald Anderson. “Ayaw kong masali,” Cristine said in jest referring to the relationship mishap involving Gerald, Bea Alonzo, and Julia Barretto.
Meanwhile, Sam Milby and Zanjoe Marudo passed Cristine’s standards of a ‘Jowable’ guy.
