Patch Magtanong wowed the public when she passed the 2019 Bar Examinations just weeks after bagging the Binibining Pilipinas International 219 crown. Patch revealed she was caught between two of her greatest dreams – becoming a beauty queen and a lawyer.
She almost gave up her pageant dreams in fear of losing the chance to pass the Bar Examinations amid her trainings. But then again, Patch found the right kind of fuel that drove her into pursuing both dreams at the same time.
“Failure is not the opposite of success; it’s a part of it. Everybody fails but it doesn’t mean that you’re any less of a person. It just means that you have a chance to learn from it and do it right the next time, so I really felt that and all my fears just washed away. I thought, ‘So what if I fail the Bar? Then, I’ll do it again,’” the twenty-five-year-old beauty queen shared.
The now licensed lawyer showed off her debating skills in a “Di ba Teh“ segment with It’s Showtime’s Miss Q & A Intertalaktic 2019 finalist Brenda Mage.
The first topic was, “Ano ang mas mahirap mawala? Jowa o Tubig?” Patch opened the debate with class and wit by blurting out an impressive one-liner defense, “Mas mahirap mawalan ng jowa kasi kapag may jowa ka, never kang mauuhaw”
The second argument was a clash between eggplant and egg. Patch picked the eggplant and cited its winning characteristics such at its size and capacity to fill in one’s hunger while Brenda mentioned an egg’s nutritional value.
