Just in time for Father’s Day, Bayani Agbayani talked about his parenting style to his four daughters- Maria Thalia, Rosalinda Marie, Mary Mar, and Marian Sabrina. The comedian is a kind of father who makes an effort to understand the millennial generation and their way of thinking so he could be good friends to his kids as well.
He guides them into reaching their goals in life but he never meddles when it comes to matters of the heart. In fact, he’s already allowed her eldest, twenty-two-year-old Thalia, to enter into a romantic relationship. The lucky guy is none other than Bea Alonzo’s brother, James Carlos.
Thalia and James used to be schoolmates in college but even before they met, James has already been playing basketball with Bayani and Vhong Navarro. So, the first time James stepped into the Agbayani household to ask for permission to court Thalia, he introduced himself as the young guy who shares the court with Bayani.
As a father, Bayani has easily given James his approval. “Ang tunay na lalaki at magalang na bata, pupunta talaga sa bahay,” shared Bayani. Boy Abunda, then, has thrown a hypothetical question about Thalia deciding to settle down and start a family of her own. Bayani said the first and most important advice he’s given his children is to value education first as it is the only treasure he and wife, Lenlen could hand them down. Now that Thalia has already finished studies, Bayani wants her to explore and enjoy the single life first as much as possible. But the Home Sweetie Home: Extra Sweet star knows at the end of the day, he’s only there to guide and not to control his daughter’s life.
Bayani is proud of his four daughters who keep on collecting accolades each year, adding that he and Lenlen would annually come up on stage. When asked whether the ‘smart’ genes was courtesy of him or Lenlen, “Si Lenlen po kasi, talagang… ” Bayani said in jest. “Edit out n’yo na lang po, delikado buhay ko”, the comedian added, drawing laughter from the King Of Talk and the audiences.
