Recently evicted Pinoy Big Brother Otso housemate Banjo Dangalan is dubbed as the “Funny Fighter ng Quezon City”. The moniker stems from his habit of showing off his hilarious dance moves after each win in an MMA fight. Banjo is a martial arts fighter before he earned a spot in PBB Otso and Muay Thai is his major discipline.
Banjo has gone controversial for being the latest housemate to be sanctioned with a forced eviction due to his offensive behavior towards female housemates and blurting out rape jokes.
After getting kicked out of the house, Banjo guested in Tonight With Boy Abunda to clear his side of the story. In the series of events before he evicted, two major issues were thrown at Banjo. The first one is his fetish for smelling someone else’s hair which the female housemates found awkward and offensive.
Banjo said he really finds a woman’s crowning glory attractive; hence, the habit of touching or smelling the female housemates’ hair. But, according to Banjo, he asks for a female’s permission before doing so. Apart from this, another major violation that made him cross the line was blurting out vulgar remarks and rape jokes; a mistake he humbly owns up to.
“Huwag po munang magbibitaw ng jokes hangga’t hindi mo pa kilala yung mga taong nasa harapan mo”, Banjo relates when asked about the lesson he picked from the controversy.
