Miss Universe 2013 3rd Runner-up Ariella Arida is good friends with fellow beauty queen Maxine Medina who was recently caught in a controversy with Kylie Versoza. According to reports, Kylie spat on Maxine in the middle of a scene for the afternoon series Los Bastardos. The two actresses involved in the issue have already patched things up but one netizen raised her curiosity on Ariella’s reaction to the said incident.
Ariella believes there are some things that cannot be avoided especially when filming an intense scene. Yet, in her opinion, it would be better if the actors would get to talk before and after filming a particular scene.
Just like Maxine and Kylie, Ariella has already ventured into acting as well. She is currently seen in the top-trending gothic series The Killer Bride where she takes on the role of Tatiana, aunt of Maja Salvador’s character, Camila. The said teleserye may be the first item in Ariella’s acting resume but netizens believe her skills surpass that of a newbie’s.
Ariella is overwhelmed with the praises she receives from The Killer Bride’s avid viewers. One of her most remarkable scenes, so far is when her character, Tatiana, did a strange ritual of rubbing pieces of crystals on her body to please the moon and heal her infertility.
While there are good words about her portrayal of Tatiana’s multifaceted persona, Ariella admits she also hears negative comments at times. The good thing is she knows how to handle constructive criticisms by using them as the drive to challenge and improve herself even more.
Her co-stars Maja Salvador and Janella Salvador also help her learn more about the craft she has just recently ventured on. Ariella said that she picks up techniques from Maja even with just watching her. “Ang sarap niya panoorin”, Ariella shared referring to Maja.
But, when asked about Tatiana’s edge over Camila and Emma, Ariella said that her character is both feisty and crazy. To test her kontrabida skills even more, Ariella gamely reenacted the lines originally delivered by Kapamilya iconic kontrabidas Emilia Torillo of Wildflower and Margaret Mondragon of Kadenang Ginto portrayed by Aiko Melendez and Andrea Brillantes, respectively.
