JC Santos and Arci Munoz guested on Tonight With Boy Abunda on Friday, August 31, and talked about the concept of an open relationship as part of the upcoming movie they are starring in, “Open.”
Before the show ended, Arci broke into tears in the “Hot Questions” segment after admitting that she and non-showbiz boyfriend Anthony Ng had broken up. “I always keep this private life… private and I wanna keep it that way,” Arci stated. She further said that she didn’t want to comment further on her relationship and decided to keep things to herself for the meantime.
In “Hot Questions,” Arci and JC had cards with ‘open’ and ‘closed’ written on it, they can choose not to answer the question once they raise the ‘close’ card. JC admitted that he was naked in the love scenes in the movie. A video of beauty vlogger Michelle Dy sorting through Arci’s bag has been trending online but Arci denied being irritated with how Dy went through her things on camera.
“I’m dating a chef right now,” JC revealed that he’s dating an old classmate of his back in high school. He shared that he tried courting her again after getting rejected back then.
Earlier in the show, Arci said she will go back to school next month to pursue a master’s degree on Foreign Language after years of graduating college with a degree in Theaters Arts from the University of the Philippines. She revealed that her first choice of language to study was Spanish since almost all her family is fluent in Spanish, but the Asian Languages department in UP only offers either Korean or Japanese currently. Arci is a big fan of the Korean hit boyband BTS and so, she decided to study Korean instead.
JC is also a UP Diliman graduate with a degree in Speech Communication. Unfortunately, he and Arci were a few years apart from each other, thus, they never had the chance to meet in school. They shared that it was their first time to meet in I Can Do That and immediately became close friends.
Arci and JC star in the movie “Open,” which has broken the hearts of netizens after its trailer was uploaded online. “Open” is the story of how Rome (Arci Munoz) and Ethan (JC Santos) navigate their respective lives having been together for 14 years. Ethan suddenly felt bored of their stagnant relationship and decided to propose to have an open relationship instead of completely breaking up.
JC defined an open relationship as a mutual understanding between two parties that agree to have sexual relationships with other people while still being in a committed relationship. “Hindi ko rin kaya,” JC admitted that he couldn’t be in an open relationship even with or without his partner’s consent. “Break na lang tayo,” Arci shared that she’d rather break up than be in an open relationship.
