Ana Ramsey ignited audience’s interest when she conquered the Tawag ng Tanghalan stage in It’s Showtime because of her impeccable performance of Tina Turner’s “Proud Mary” and her last name that is widely associated to a clan of singers. To answer everyone’s curiosity, Ana confirmed that she is indeed related to legendary performer-comedienne Elizabeth Ramsey and Queen of Soul Jaya.

But she isn’t just a mere distant relative of the Ramseys. In fact, Ana used to stay with her Lola Elizabeth while growing up and she remains in a good relationship with Jaya until now. Ana was a witness to Elizabeth’s iconic shows where she used to perform as front acts before.
Before Elizabeth passed away, one of her final wishes was to keep their family name alive in the entertainment industry. Now that another Ramsey is making noise in the music scene, the late singer’s request has indeed been granted well. People even see traces of Elizabeth’s trademark showgirl moves every time Ana performs on stage, like what she displayed in her stint in TNT Celebrity Champions where she finished as a grand finalist.
Ana gave the TWBA viewers a sample of her “Proud Mary” performance; and even Boy Abunda was enticed to copy Elizabeth’s stance and accent. This made Ana miss her Lola even more.
Ana expressed gratitude to Tawag ng Tanghalan for paving a way to more opportunities. Ana hopes to pursue her singing career while still doing her job as a disc jockey in MOR.
Taking on the Fast Talk segment, Ana failed to pick just one between radio and television. The band Ben & Ben is her most favorite radio guests thus far. She admitted that she isn’t good in the kitchen, so when asked about the craziest thing she did for love, Ana said that she pretended cooking a take-out meal to impress someone.
She named Ultimate Hunk Piolo Pascual as the sexiest man in the Philippines; and belted out Aretha Franklin’s “Natural Woman” as the song of her life.
