Athlete Alyssa Valdez has always been on the spotlight since she took the sports world by storm with her highly impressive volleyball skills, making her worthy of the title “The Phenom.” But just as when the public thought they’ve already seen everything that Alyssa is capable of doing, she surprises everyone with two other talents that perhaps people didn’t know – hula hooping and acting.
Alyssa revealed that she once joined a beauty pageant as a kid and her talent, which equated to a special award, was none other than hula hooping. She displayed this skill in her TWBA guesting and impressed the audience even more by using two hula hoops at once. Alyssa takes on the “Last Time” challenge while keeping the hula hoop up her waist all throughout.
She said the last time she laughed was because of a joke Kiefer Ravena blurted out while the last time she cried was due to a sprain.
Alyssa has already stepped into the world of acting as well. “Confident ako!” the athlete says in jest when asked about her transformation as a movie actress. Alyssa related that there are people who would easily give up when faced with either a little or major dilemma within a relationship. But according Alyssa, her debut film “My Letters to Happy” showed that there are also others who are willing to stay despite the struggles and pain of falling in love.
To test her acting skills, Boy Abunda dared Alyssa to deliver a line from “Got To Believe”, the last movie filmed by Alyssa’s favorite actor, Rico Yan. Alyssa uttered “I never really believed in forever but I think I found forever in you” in varying emotions – sacred, furious, and acting like in a conversation with Kiefer, her boyfriend of three years.
