Alyssa Muhlach witnessed how her parents, actress Almira Muhlach and ex PBA cager Bong Alvarez, slowly drifted apart until their marriage has ended into separation. In this interview, Alyssa admits her parents’ split up has something to do with her father’s addiction.
When asked whether she got mad with her Dad, Alyssa has this to say, “Yes. How I wish na sana pinili niya kami.” Alyssa is the eldest among Almira and Bong’s three daughters. Looking back on the experience, Alyssa shares she acted as the bridge between her parents in order to protect her younger siblings.
But, because of her parents’ separation, Alyssa has learned to become the selfless and stronger woman she is right now.
“I can’t change the past but what I can do is be the best version of myself. I love my parents unconditionally,” Alyssa says.
The beauty-queen actress reveals her father was the reason why she got into sports like taekwondo. Bong has taught her three daughters the need to learn self-defense since they’re all girls.
At the moment, Alyssa’s favorite pastime is boxing and she is willing to do action roles as well. In fact, the budding actress gamely accepts Boy Abunda’s challenge to do an impromptu Darna auditions.
For her first big showbiz project, Alyssa brings scare along with Jodi Sta. Maria and the other cast of hit horror film, “Clarita,” still showing nationwide. She is also currently doing a movie series with JM de Guzman and Kiko Estrada.
