Young heartthrob Joshua Garcia wasn’t able to hold back his tears as Boy Abunda tackled hurtful intrigue concerning a viral private comment he made on a mystery girl’s Instagram during his guesting in Tonight With Boy Abunda last April 10.
As Tito Boy suddenly brought up his solo trip to Bali, he proceeded to question Joshua about his relationship status with girlfriend and onscreen partner Julia Barretto.
The acclaimed actor was quick to confirm that they indeed had a misunderstanding after a screencap of his direct message to a certain “Dane’s” Instagram story circulated online and spawned to insensitive comments from bashers.
It certainly hurt him, which was evident as tears welled up his eyes while his voice cracked. But he opted to look at the brighter side of the issue and considered it as a test to his strength and to their blooming relationship.
“Masaya ako na nangyari yon kasi may mga natutunan ako. [Tulad ng] iingatan ko ‘yung ginagalawan ko kasi hindi siya para sa lahat,” he began.
Then he added, “[Pero] nagsisi ako na ginawa ko 'yon kasi nagalit ‘yong mahal ko sa buhay.”
Being hailed as one of the most celebrated actors of his generation, Joshua reiterated the value of always remembering where you started when the host asked him how he handles success and how he was before entering show business.
They also discussed one of his recent trending scenes on The Good Son, where he pointed a gun at his temple and broke down, that racked up rave reviews from the audiences. According to him, it was only ‘one-take’ for they have to do a lot of sequences that day, which certainly amazed the fans anew.
As the primetime series approaches its climactic end, Joshua imparted the acting process he goes through to effectively portray the character of Joseph and what he has learned from it. He realized further the value of his family for being the most constant people regardless of your status in life.
Meanwhile, when asked regarding his concept of failure, it took a long before the 20-year-old superstar was able to respond and said that it could be disappointing his parents by not focusing on his studies. But he told the King of Talk that it’s one of the things he plans to accomplish someday.
