Boy Abunda welcomes actor and model Tony Labrusca on November 1 episode of TWBA.
Tony Labrusca first gained popularity in his participation in the viral 2016 ad, “Tuloy Pa Rin”. That same year, he joined the reality program, Pinoy BoyBand Superstar and became of its top contenders. However, the handsome actor failed to make it to the top 5—and as one of the official members of BoybandPH. He then pursued an acting career in the business the following year, and joined the cast of La Luna Sangre top-billed by Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla.
The King of Talk opens the show by asking about his nickname “Sharky” and how it came about to which the actor tells that it’s because of his Mohawk hairstyle in his high school days. Tito Boy then asks about another nickname given to him by fans: “The Prince of Pain” and asks the actor on how it came about. Tony expresses that he likes the title and that it probably came about due to his recent films, “ML” and “Double Twisting Double Back.” When asked on how he manages emotional pain, Tony answers that it’s hard to tell as emotions can sometimes be your bestfriend when you need it to push you to action while it can also be your worst enemy.
On talks of his recent film, Tito Boy asks him on his experience working with veteran actor, Eddie Garcia, and inquires whether or not the physical pain he showed in the film is real. Tony tells that Eddie did slap him in some of the scenes to make the pain look believable but also notes that he’s a professional and knows how to do it without overdoing it. He then relays the gist of his new film, which tells the story of a colonel with dementia who still believes he’s still in the time of martial law.
Afterwards, Tony plays Truth or Dare and chooses dares for all rounds, giving us a glimpse of the softest part of his body, his effortless push-up routine and… his rock-hard abs!
