Since day one, Tonight with Boy Abunda never failed to leave us astounded with the thrill it brings as it gives us fast-paced discussions about the lives of some of the biggest stars in the country. Although it is clear that most of the time, our beloved Kapamilya artists are the guests of the show, TWBA has also given us exclusive interviews with both local and international artists we never thought would sit on the show’s hot seat.
As we celebrate TWBA’s fourth anniversary using the hashtag #TWBA4Real, let us look back on the top four most unexpected exclusive interviews that happened in TWBA’s fourth glorious year.
1. Alden Richards
A week before his high grossing film titled “Hello, Love, Goodbye” was released in the first week of August 2019, Alden Richards went on a Tonight with Boy Abunda Dressing Room Online Exclusive Interview. His chat with the TWBA host Boy Abunda revolved around his experiences in struggling with rejection, his simplicity as a person being able to achieve happiness only by playing video games, the status of his love life, his role in the film as Ethan and his experiences in working with Kathryn Bernardo and Direk Cathy Garcia Molina. Given that it’s his first time on the hot seat, Alden eagerly played the show’s most famous segment, Fast Talk.
2. Paolo Ballesteros
Before his film titled “Panti Sisters” with Christian Bables and Martin Del Rosario became a box office hit, Paolo Ballesteros guested on Tonight with Boy Abunda for an exhilarating discussion with the King of Talk. He shared some interesting stories behind his make-up transformation videos, gender issues, the truth about his love life, playing as Gabriel Panti and his experiences in portraying the said role. Of course, he wasn’t exempted when it comes to the show’s famous segment Fast Talk.
3. Maine Mendoza
With her on-screen partner Carlo Aquino for the film “Isa Pa with Feelings,” Maine Mendoza graced us with her presence on Tonight with Boy Abunda last October. In their conversation, Maine opened up about being a big fan of her leading man Carlo, the story and their roles in the said film, and how they worked with each other to craft their film. Apart from those discussions, they also taught Tito Boy some basic sign languages and the basic steps in dancing ballroom rhumba. They also played the game called “Isa Pa o Tama Na” where they talked about their lifestyle and issues about their career and love life. And since Carlo has been in the show for several times, the phenomenal actress Maine Mendoza took the Fast Talk challenge wherein she revealed some of her personal preferences.
4. Angelina Jolie
Days before their film titled “Maleficent: Mistress of Evil” was released in cinemas internationally, the King of Talk had an exclusive interview with Angelina Jolie, one of Hollywood’s A-list actresses. English actor and singer Sam Riley, who plays as a raven named Diaval in the film, joined Angelina in the said interview. Given that the film is a sequel to the 2014 film “Maleficent,” Angelina, Sam and Tito Boy talked about how the current film is different to the first movie. Angelina also gave us her wise words when it comes to love, which was essentially tackled in their film.
