Tonight with Boy Abunda presents the third part of a special episode in celebration of the one and only King of Talk’s birthday! Instead of the usual interview by the beloved host, Boy Abunda is to be interviewed by one of the networks most iconic celebrities and TV hosts, Vice Ganda.
In the past two episodes this week, we got to know more about Tito Boy and his personal relationships, his industry secrets and the good and bad moments in his career in the many years as a talk show host and icon. Tonight, however, the tables turn as the King of Talk resumes his post as host and puts the fantastic Vice on the hot seat to ask about his recent career achievements, the ups and downs of being a host and comedian, and the truth behind his relationship with PBA star Calvin Abueva.
It is no secret that Vice has become one of the most iconic faces in the industry with his wit, talent and comedic skills. Through the years, Vice has not only proved to be a talented host and comedian, which he showcases in Kapamilya programs such as It’s Showtime and Gandang Gabi Vice (GGV), but is also a skilled actor and singer as he has also released several blockbuster comedy films and sold out venues for concert events in recent years.
With everything that he has achieved, Tito Boy then asks what is the comedian’s true measure for success to which Vice answers: “Peace”; saying that being able to sleep well at night and look forward to tomorrow is what he would describe as being successful. The actor-slash-host also shares that after going through depression earlier this year, he has finally got himself back on his feet and is very happy and well.
When asked if he fears being irrelevant, Vice tells how he told himself that he wants to die at age 40 but has now changed his mind about it. He reasons that he wants to enjoy his life more, to be able to experience more, as well as to do more for other people who admitted to him that he has saved them with his comedic skills—making their frowns turn upside down and uplifting their spirits with laughter.
