Tonight with Boy Abunda welcomes two well-known faces in the industry, Nash Aguas and Sharlene San Pedro. The two child stars-turned-teens take the TWBA hot seat to talk about their first starring film, “Class of 2018,” and give us the lowdown on the truth behind the tandem “NashLene.”
Many would know Nash and Sharlene from the long-running comedy program Goin’ Bulilit where the two became mainstay actors and have graced the television scene with their cute and hilarious antics. Their friendship, however, stems way back to 2004 where the two became contenders in the reality-based talent competition, Star Circle Quest, and both managed to become part of the “Magic Circle 5”—finalists of the show. This year, they take on their first leading roles in the thriller-horror flick, Class of 2018, and reunites with other Bulilit co-stars like Kristel Fulgar, CJ Navato and Kiray Celis.
As Tito Boy welcomes the two young stars to the show, he asks about the status of their hearts which then leads to the talks of their crushes. When Sharlene is asked on how many ‘special someones’ she’s had, Nash answers for her and says that there are two; making the starlet reveal that she used to have a huge crush on their Goin’ Bulilit co-star, Kobe Vidanes, and that she found him very cute, then.
On talks of their film, “Class of 2018,” the King of Talk points out that it’s their first leading roles—on top of that, their first role acting as a love team. Tito Boy then asks if there was a point in their career when they felt their chemistry—felt that there can be something more to their friendship to which both stars reveal “maybe.” Nash explains that he felt a kilig moment upon watching their performance on the primetime action-drama, FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, while Sharlene admits to have felt the spark between them as well. When asked on the possibility of becoming more than friends, Sharlene admits that Nash is very boyfriend material but sees him more as a best friend. Nash shares similar thoughts, saying that he had shared so many things with her through the years and is her prankster buddy.
Tito Boy asks Sharlene if she ever gets jealous of Nash’s showbiz girlfriend, Mika Dela Cruz, to which the young actress denies; saying that she’s pretty much rooting for her. On the other hand, Tito Boy asks Nash if he feels jealous of Sharlene’s fellow Myx VJ Donny Pangilinan. Sharlene is quick to shoot down the speculations, however, clearing that Donny is more like a big brother to her.
