Maja Salvador looked gorgeous and elegant in an all-white OOTD ensemble during her interview for Tonight with Boy Abunda on August 21, 2017. Bold as her iconic on-screen personas, Maja gamely answered intriguing questions from the netizens.
She was asked to think of her favorite scene with Aiko Melendez who plays as her biggest nemesis in the top-rating teleserye Wildflower. There are just too many memorable encounters between Maja’s Lily Cruz and Aiko’s Emilia Ardiente that even the lead star had a difficult time choosing only one.
“Lahat ng sinasakal ko siya,” she joked. Maja shared that Aiko gives her the freedom to execute such violent scenes in her own style. “Sobrang cute ni Miss Aiko ‘pag rehearsal. Parang ‘Sige na, baby girl. I love you naman, eh. Ikaw nang bahala ah.’”
Maja further revealed that Aiko finds it difficult to shoot slapping scenes. “Akala n’yo galit na galit siya pero ‘pag siya ‘yung sasampalin, hindi niya kayang sumampal. Sabi niya ‘sorry hindi ko talaga kaya.’ Tapos ‘yung director namin, ‘Sampalin mo na para tapos na tayo.’ Dinadaya pa niya. Ang bait kasi, eh.”
If she could portray another character from the show, she would go for Emilia or RK Bagatsing’s Arnaldo Ardiente.
Asked about the possibility of falling in love with a foreigner, Maja believes she can’t defy what God has for her. “Kung ‘yun ang bigay ni God, why not? Depende po ‘yun, kung anong dumating.” She hinted at feeling satisfied with her romantic life, though.
Maja is noticeably glowing and happy, without any trace of bad blood for anyone in the past. When confronted by an intriguing question about working with Bea Alonzo, the recent girl in Gerald Anderson’s life, Maja quickly replied with, “Moved on na kami, girl!”
Maja often shares the dance floor with Yassi Pressman. This might spark comparison in the audience’s eyes but Maja is not up for any competition. “Ang galing ni Yassi. Walang mas magaling o ano. Kung talented ang isang tao, kung magaling siya sumayaw, magaling siya kumanta hindi ka makikipag-compete.”
She simply believes that Yassi is a fantastic dancer and they belong to different generations of talents. “Si Yassi 22 years old and I’m turning 29. So, sabi ko ‘yung hingal ko, grabe ‘yung habol ko kay Yassi,” she added.
Maja thinks their dance floor collaboration is reminiscent of Rica Peralejo’s ‘Rated R’ segment on ASAP. “Sabi ko nga, bakit gano’n? Noong kapanahunan ni Ate Rica ‘di ba may ‘Rated R’ noon? Bakit hindi n’yo kami pinagsabay?”
The Queen of the Dancefloor is just grateful that she can still keep up with the new generation of younger performers.
