She may not appear like it, but Cristine Reyes is already 30 years old since last month. To celebrate her recent birthday, Tito Boy challenged her to answer 30 questions that would reveal fun facts about her. For one, Cristine may be one of those who live up to the Filipino belief of lihi; saying her mother craved a lot for singkamas during pregnancy with her. Can we consider her radiantly white skin as proof, then?
If there is one person she will opt not to invite to her party, Cristine jests that it will be her mother. The actress recalls one birthday celebration of hers in Boracay where her mom tagged along; and started to yell at her and the guests for making too much noise. Cristine laughs at her mom and her expectations of a quiet environment in a frenzied place like Boracay.
Amarah, whom she describes as sweet, is Cristine’s biggest source of happiness. A good meal never fails to make her smile. Recalling her fondest childhood memories, Cristine says their family used to go to out-of-town trips when she was young.
Cristine, also known for her insanely sexy body, is fond of working out. As part of her physical activities, she trains for Muay Thai. She may not be into the field of mixed martial arts yet but if there is one person she would like to fight with in an MMA session, it would be Gal Gadot.
Cristine is asked about the recent piece of advice that she took seriously from her sister, Ara Mina. She was hesitant to share at first, saying it is too personal but after a few words of persuasion from Tito Boy, Cristine says Ara told her to adhere to her family’s guidance.
Others often perceive her as snob and Cristine admits that she really is at times but when people get to know her better, they would easily discover her fun side. Cristine says charm is her biggest weapon and fortunately, Amarah got this attribute of hers. The last wish that was granted for her was her desire to take her showbiz career back.
Blessings are raining down on Cristine. Aside from "Maria," she is also a part of the upcoming Kapamilya morning series Nang Ngumiti ang Langit. Contrary to her recent teleserye roles, Cristine takes on the challenge of being a kontabida this time. Cristine shares that she personally requested for a villainous character as she admits growing tired of the usual protagonist roles she plays, saying she has been shedding tears on-screen for more than 15 years. “Gusto ko naman ng challenging. Gusto ko namang mang-api”, she quips. Nang Ngumiti ang Langit will start airing on March 25, before It’s Showtime.
