As the lead vocalist of the rock band, Rocksteddy, Teddy Corpuz is expected to set the audience on its liveliest mood and bring the most exciting music experience whether on stage or through the band’s recorded hits. The wildest thing that Teddy has done so far is to dive into the crowd of audiences, saying his gigs would not be complete without this act. But Teddy warns that stage diving is not as easy as it seems and it involves alertness on both the performer and the concertgoers. There are also times that Teddy does not manage to execute it perfectly, leading him to almost fall from the hands of the crowd.
There has always been a stigma that rockers are snobs but Teddy observes that this stereotype is slowly fading away in these modern times. Of course, the lead star of "Papa Pogi" also experienced getting branded by these false impressions that even his It’s Showtime co-host, Vice Ganda once perceived him as someone difficult to approach and connect with, taking cue from a rocker’s conventional image of being aloof to bisexuals.
Teddy clears his name from this typecasting and shares that he has gay friends as well but living up to his current moniker, Papa Pogi, Teddy admits getting wooed by gays before but he never had a relationship with one.
Teddy’s band, Rocksteddy made a swift entry into the music scene in early 2000’s; the era where OPM was at its peak. But just recently, there has been reports that the group is disbanding, or on the verge at least. In his guesting in Tonight with Boy Abunda, Teddy reveals there was a time, just last year, when Rocksteddy almost fell apart. Citing the reason behind the rough stage of the group, Teddy says there are moments when he, as the vocalist and songwriter of Rocksteddy, feels tired of making more music. But he knows that his co-members are all completely devoted to the band and their income would rely mostly on the number of songs that Teddy manages to create. In order to help his band mates, Teddy encourages them to engage into other raket as well. Teddy honestly admits that they are still yet to completely iron out the issues inside their band.
