Zanjoe Marudo, star of the newest daytime series on ABS-CBN, is on the hot seat on Tonight with Boy Abunda as he talks about his upcoming program, Playhouse, and gives us a glimpse into what the series is about, as well as a look into his on-screen relationship with his leading lady, Angelica Panganiban.
The drama is about “second chances” according to the actor, saying that it tells the story of two people trying to rekindle a romance through their annulment filing. The actor expresses his joy in working with a professional and close friend such as Angelica and how that has helped him a lot in acting for the show.
The King of Talk opens up about a rumored love scene in the series which the actor confirms. Tito Boy then asks if filming it had been awkward, considering he is close friends with the beautiful actress. Zanjoe only smiles and says that filming it was quite a funny experience. He tells how he and Angelica had been single for a very long time which makes the love scene a little worrisome. The actor amusedly tells how he had to take a pause from shooting, telling everyone that he needs to get his bearings straight before doing it or else he might feel things he shouldn’t be feeling; jokingly implying romantic feelings may develop between them.
Joking aside, Zanjoe praises Angelica’s professionalism and notes that he didn’t have problems in filming scenes like that and expresses that he’s very lucky to be always paired with talented and professional actresses in the course of his career.
When asked if he is currently in a relationship, Zanjoe boldly answers: “Handa nang magmahal, handa nang masaktan”; emphasizing that when it comes to wanting to love someone, one must also be ready to get hurt.
