Liza Soberano has been hailed as one of the most beautiful girls in the world for a lot of times already. Yet, the humble actress reveals that she has not gotten used to feeling pretty all the time. Despite the never-ending compliments on her physical appearance, Liza always sees all her flaws when facing the mirror.
People are always expecting her to look perfect and all glammed up but behind the camera, Liza prefers to just be the simple girl that she really is. The vanity is all just part of the job requirement. Even when spending time with her closest It Girl friends, Janella Salvador and Julia Barretto, the three prefer to just look ordinary – in their pajamas and bare faces.
While most people have nothing but praises for the young actress, there are still others who throw negative comments on her. For Liza, the worse insult she has received online is that she is unfit for her role as the next Darna. She admits getting hurt with that observation, saying she is working hard to become the best version of herself for the project.
Online bashing is also the reason why Liza is not fond of posting personal matters on her social media accounts. Liza would be able to swallow the negativity directed at her and her job. However, she will not be able to accept if her loved ones would also be attacked by the bashers’ hate.
Liza has always been family-oriented. She is known as a good provider for her family. There are times when Liza cries and wonders why so much burden has been put on her shoulders when in fact, she should have just enjoyed her youth. Her family often says sorry and regrets that they could not help her in their financial needs. Yet, Liza treats them as her inspiration. If there are times when she feels tired, Liza simply reminds herself of the reason why she has sacrificed her personal happiness and has chosen to work young instead.
Liza’s parents are now separated and her mother is based in the States. She admits that the distance has somehow diminished their closeness but she clarifies that the love between them has never lessened. It just happens that they often miss out on each other a lot. To make up with the lost time, Liza spent the recent Christmas time with her mother’s side abroad. She even tagged along her boyfriend, Enrique Gil in the said vacation. Liza gladly shares that her mother and Quen get along well. The two have a lot of similarities. They are both fun, energetic and outgoing while Liza is more of the reserved and strict type of person.
The young actress is also noticeably protective of her siblings. Recently, Liza’s younger brother, Justin has entered fatherhood. She admits getting shocked and crying upon hearing the news but her reaction was not brought by anger. Liza just felt that she is going to lose her baby brother. After letting things simmer down, she talked to Justin and reminded him that being a father takes a deeper kind of maturity. Liza admits that there was a time when Justin has become rebellious and this has caused a slight gap between them. The loving sister still hopes and prays that her baby brother will eventually come back and things will become smoother again.
Recently on Gandang Gabi Vice , Liza and Enrique have finally admitted that they are officially a couple. Liza shares that Enrique is her great love and they both wish to end up together. For the five years that they have been together, both as a loveteam and a real-life couple, she also notices that Quen has already matured. She admits that Quen used to have a reputation of being playful and a party-goer. She thinks that such branding is rooted from Quen’s experimental phase in his younger days and not to mention that his good looks can easily sweep girls off their feet. When they both started working together, Quen has become busier and has learned to focus more on his dreams and goals.
Sharing more private details of their relationship, Liza talks about Enrique’s Valentine surprises over the years.
In 2015, Enrique surprised Liza with a bouquet of flowers and chocolates. Liza reveals that she kept just the chocolates but had to give back the roses to Enrique. She was just sixteen at that time and her Dad didn’t allow her to accept suitors yet. Hence, she had to refuse receiving gift from the Kapamilya actor.
In 2016, Liza got a dog from Enrique and she named it Mickey. At that time, Liza’s father has already given her the permission to engage in courtships.
Lovely blue roses are Enrique’s gift for her on the Valentine’s Day of 2017 while they had a romantic dinner in 2018.
This year, Liza and Enrique are busy spending their Valentine season attending block screenings and promoting their current film, “Alone/Together.” Liza promises that the audience will definitely learn valuable lessons from the movie.
