“Luis and Olivia, when I look at you, I am home,” she confessed on Tonight with Boy Abunda. Nikki Valdez sat down with the King of Talk and opened up about her relationships. She described her home as a place that is warm and full of laughter simply because her family is happy just being together. “Kami kahit sa simple things that we do at home, alam namin na ‘pag magkakasama kami we are home with each other,” she expressed. And this is a tried and tested bond.
Nikki tied the knot with Luis Garcia earlier this year and she retold on the late-night show how everything was almost ruined. It was an international wedding that was held in Hong Kong and every detailed had already been planned. This was meant to be smooth sailing for them. Until a plane overshot, causing her friend and families’ flights to be cancelled.
Somehow, they managed to book a flight to Macau and made it to the morning of their big day. “Ngayon masasabi namin sa sarili namin, maybe there is nothing now that we cannot handle together,” Nikki admitted about how she felt in the end.
As for their guests, almost half of her family were not as lucky in finding a flight, including her best friend Kaye Abad. “Si Kaye, whom I haven’t seen for a long time, because she’s now based in Cebu, she was gonna fly there for my wedding,” the Sana Dalawa Ang Puso actress revealed. But even if her bestie could not make it, she still felt grateful for the show of love and support, “’Yung mga naiwan dito, siyempre wala na sila magawa so, they kept on just encouraging me.”
