Magkaibigan pa rin nga ba ang mag-ex na sina Sam Concepcion at Kiana Valenciano?

Multi-talented artist Sam Concepcion is back in theater as he takes on the title role in the Trumpets musical, “Joseph The Dreamer”. Despite the fact that it is his ‘dream’ role, Sam humbly acknowledged his reluctance to accept the offer at first. He says he was too overwhelmed with how huge the project is. Besides, theater performances require more flamboyant delivery than on-screen acting.

To set the two platforms apart, Sam gives a sample of how to utter a dialogue for television and for theater where everything becomes “larger than life”. Yet, Sam slowly adjusted his mindset through the help of the brilliant production team including Director Paolo Valenciano, brother of his ex-girlfriend Kiana Valenciano.

The actor claims that he feels at home with the Valencianos even after his breakup with Kiana.  He and Paolo are theater buddies in 2001, so their friendship is basically built on a strong foundation. Further, he remains civil with Kiana and he knows things will become much better in time. For Sam, there is nothing wrong with befriending an ex especially when there’s a close bond shared in the previous relationship.

Sam confirms that even his pals James Reid and Nadine Lustre are still friends after their controversial split-up.

As reaction to fans’ observation on his closeness with former The Killer Bride co-star, Janella Salvador, Sam admits that he likes a lot of things about her especially her passion for acting and singing. And he is looking forward to working with her again. Would he pursue Janella if given the chance to? Sam replies with a ‘yes’. He clarifies that there are no issues of jealousy between him and Joshua Garcia who is also romantically linked with the beautiful actress. They are all friends, Sam assures everyone.

Apart from “Joseph The Dreamer”, Sam is also part of the HBO Asia series, “Half Worlds,” helmed by Mikhail Red.

Capping off the interview, Sam plays the TWBA “Yes, No, Maybe” Challenge. He certainly would love to work with all the actresses presented on the screen; especially with Angelica Panganiban, Yassi Pressman, Elisse Joson and Julia Barretto.
