Through her many years in the showbiz industry, the Ultimate Multimedia Star Toni Gonzaga proved that aside from acting and singing, being a host is one of the many things she does remarkably. She has a joyful spirit, a lively personality and a witty mind that she never fails to exude in all of her hosting stints. Whether she is on a variety program, reality competition, talk show and even on a newscast, Toni indeed bears an exceptional hosting style that could always make us listen while being entertained at the same time.
In 2005, Toni started her hosting journey on ABS-CBN on the longest-running Sunday musical variety show ASAP. On ASAP Natin ‘To, she became a regular host together with Piolo Pascual, Jolina Magdangal, Luis Manzano, Robi Domingo, Sarah Geronimo and many more.
Pinoy Big Brother
Also back in 2005, Toni began her hosting stint in the “teleserye ng totoong buhay” Pinoy Big Brother. From then up to the show’s ongoing season, PBB Otso, she continues to play her role as one of the main hosts of the show. In an interview on Jeepney TV’s Showbiz Pa More, she said that hosting for PBB through many decades honed her hosting skills and gave her the self-confidence she now has.
As one of the show’s mainstay hosts, Toni previously received a birthday surprise from Big Brother that includes greetings from her husband Paul Soriano and their son Seve.
For five years, specifically from 2010 to 2015, Toni became one of the main hosts of the defunct entertainment news and talk show The Buzz. She hosted alongside the King of Talk Boy Abunda and the Queen of All Media Kris Aquino. Here, Toni proved her wit and intelligence in conducting interviews with various co-celebrities in the industry. One of her best moments on the show was her face off with her one and only sister Alex Gonzaga in 2013.
Happy Yipee Yehey!
From 2011 to 2012, Toni became one of the main hosts of the noontime variety show Happy Yipee Yehey! Together with Randy Santiago, John Estrada and Mariel Padilla, they brought smiles to our faces by showing their wackiness as they played along in the show’s segments.
The Voice of the Philippines
When ABS-CBN had its first The Voice franchise back in 2013, Toni was already one of the show’s main hosts. She handled hosting the show alone in its first season in 2013. Eventually, Luis Manzano joined her in the show’s second season that aired from 2014 to 2015.
Soon after their tandem in The Voice of the Philippines, Toni collaborated again with Luis Manzano in hosting the teen edition of the said reality singing competition. Stylized as The Voice Teens, the show aired after the third season of The Voice Kids ended in 2016.
As part of the 30th anniversary celebration of TV Patrol, Toni once became a Star Patroller on August 25, 2017.
PGT (Pilipinas Got Talent)
Last year, Toni hosted the sixth season of the talent reality search titled Pilipinas Got Talent or PGT along with Billy Crawford.
