Xai Martinez’s shining moments in The Voice Kids Season 5

Her sweet and shy disposition was already enough to endear us at first sight. But when young artist Xai Martinez started singing the OPM hit “Someday” by Nina during the Blind Auditions of The Voice Kids Season 5, she was able to absolutely capture our hearts, more so Coach KZ Tandingan, who she chose over Coach Bamboo.

In the Battle Rounds, she made sure to make the Asia’s Soul Supreme feel that she made the right decision of turning her chair for her as she outshone her fellow Team Supreme artists Janicka Lorenzo and Zoe Quizol as they covered Up Dharma Down’s “Tadhana.”

The 12-year-old “Sweet Nightingale” from Caloocan City truly astounded everyone with her versatile and powerful vocals when she performed “Hindi Tayo Pwede” by The Juans in the Sing-offs. Coach Martin Nievera regarded her low tones as one of the nicest he has ever heard, while Coach Bamboo liked how she intensely and cleanly finished the song.

Of course, Coach KZ was also all-praises to her, saying, “I’m so proud of your growth from the very beginning, sa audition mo pa lang, hanggang ngayon. Si Xai ‘yong isa sa mga members ng Team Supreme na talagang mabilis maka-pick-up. I am very happy, very pleased with this performance.”

The “Enchanting Siren” further proved that she really deserved the spot given to her in the semi-finals for she delivered an impressive rendition of Gary Valenciano’s “Sana Maulit Muli” that showcased the maturity and flexibility of her voice, as well as her heart.

And that fantastic performance captivated a lot of hearts and became her ticket to the final showdown as she garnered the highest number of online votes (51.62%) versus her fellow Team Supreme members Leira Raynes (21.41%) and Marc Antillion (26.96%).

Is Xai going to be this season’s grand winner? Let’s all find out by not missing the much-awaited grand finals of The Voice Kids Season 5 on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, A2Z, and TV5.
