Princess Cañete reveals how she overcame difficulties during rehearsals, Battles performance

Three-chair turner Princess Cañete, who astonished us with her powerful rendition of the Angeline Quinto hit “At Ang Hirap” in the Blind Auditions, once again got the nod of Coach Bamboo during the Battles round as he picked her to be one his artists to proceed to the Sing-offs of The Voice Kids Season 5.

While she and her fellow Kamp Kawayan members Candice Flores and Abigail Libosada all did a great job in their performance of late Master Rapper Francis Magalona’s “Kaleidoscope World,” it was still the “Church Family Singer” who prevailed in the end due to her palpable charm, flair, and presence onstage that captured their coach’s heart the most.

In her latest The Voice Kids DigiTV stint, she expressed how over the moon she was to be the one moving forward to the next round and, at the same time, sad for her teammates Candice and Abigail who got eliminated.

When asked to describe the mentoring style of the OPM rock icon, Princess imparted that he’s actually not that strict but rather cool, which she really liked. She then went on to confess how she was really having a hard time from the rehearsals up to the show proper since she was suffering from sore throat and cough. Yet, she was still able to overcome it, thanks to the instructions of Coach Bamboo for her to take a lot of rest, drink plenty of water, and take her medicines.

With regards to the most striking pieces of advice she got from him, Princess imparted, “Sabi po ni Coach Bamboo sa’kin no’ng rehearsal namin, I just need to take it slow and huwag po munang i-force ‘yong boses ko. And then just enjoy the song po.”

Her appearance on the online show capped off with her sweet message to Candice and Abigail as she told them to not be discouraged because a lot of opportunities are surely on their way and that she’s looking forward to see them soon.

See how Princess will thrive in the next rounds of the competitions by not missing an episode of The Voice Kids Season 5, Saturdays and Sundays, on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, A2Z, and TV5.
