Patricia Delos Santos describes Coach Martin as a mentor, shares the pieces of advice she got from him

Her performance of KZ Tandingan’s epic rendition of “Isang Linggong Pag-ibig” during the Blind Auditions of The Voice Kids Season 5 really thrilled us. And Patricia Delos Santos delivered another impressive performance that made her survive the Battles Round.

The “Devoted Big Sister” took the stage anew alongside fellow MarTeam members Krizel Mabalay and Sean Matthew Drece as they showcased their powerful executions of the OPM classic hit “Anak” by Freddie Aguilar. While of all them did good, their coach Martin Nievera still chose her to be one of the representatives of his team in the Sing-offs.

In her second The Voice Kids DigiTV guesting, she conveyed that although she’s happy with the outcome of their showdown and that she made it to the Battle Rounds, she actually couldn’t help but be sad for Krizel and Sean Matthew since they’ve become her friends.

When asked how Coach Martin is as a mentor during their rehearsals, Patricia related, “Sobrang bait po ni Coach Martin kaya po hindi po ako kinakabahan. Sobrang bait niya po magturo, hindi po siya strict. Actually nga po, pinapasaya niya pa po kami. Sobrang saya po na ka-bonding po namin siya lagi.”

Aside from having a painful backache during one of their practices, she confessed that she also got challenged in hitting the high notes of the song, which she did once again during her chikahan with hosts Elha Nympha and Lorraine Galvez.

She also shared how her friendship with Krizel and Sean Matthew got established by being each other’s constant companions and playmates during their preparations for The Battles. When asked for her message to them, she expressed: “Huwag n’yong iisipin na di kayo nakapasok. Mayroon pang darating na journey para sa inyo. At huwag n’yong kakalimutan na mahal na mahal ko kayong dalawa at di ko kayo nakalimutan. Lagi kayong nasa puso’t isip ko. Hinding-hindi ko kayo makakalimutan hanggang mamatay man ako.” This, of course, moved and shookt the two hosts.

With regards to the most unforgettable advices that she got from the Concert King, it would for her to enjoy her performance, to not get nervous, and to not fret much about the depth of the song. She also recalled how she motivated Sean and Krizel before they set their foot onstage by telling them to just enjoy the performance and consider it as their concert.

See how Patricia will thrive in the next rounds of the competitions by not missing an episode of The Voice Kids Season 5, Saturdays and Sundays, on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, A2Z, and TV5.
