After making all the three coaches spin for him during the Blind Auditions, young artist Marc Antillion once again captured the heart of Coach KZ Tandingan with his performance in the Battle Rounds of The Voice Kids Season 5.
Delivering their heartfelt version of “Leaves” by Ben&Ben, the “Dubai Big Dreamer” and groupmates Sab Paica and Princess Villanil indeed gave their coach a hard time on choosing who among them deserved to move on to the Sing-offs. But with how he still chose to fight despite everything that he was going through, which reflected onto his performance, it was him who the Asia’s Soul Supreme pick to be one of the representatives of Team Supreme.
In his The Voice Kids DigiTV appearance, the 11-year-old young artist divulged to hosts Elha Nympha and Lorraine Galvez that their group actually encountered some problems while they were doing their harmonies. But in spite of those, Coach KZ would made them practice and help them to get it right.
“Coach KZ is a very hands-on coach. Whenever we have a problem, she’ll always a find a way to help us get it right. During one of the rehearsal days, I had a problem. I had some phlegm in my throat, so she gave me something to drink so that I would feel better,” he related with regards to her mentoring style.
Aside from not feeling well during their preparations, Marc confessed that he initially had trouble blending with his groupmates and hitting his timing in the beginning, which he had to work on a lot.
He may be the only guy in the team, but he was still able to bond with Sab and Princess, as well as with Coach KZ to whom they had a lunch with in one of the rehearsals. While it’s sad that he would be moving on to the next round without them – Princess got completely eliminated while Sab is now under Kamp Kawayan after Coach Bamboo used his “Steal Deal” to her – Marc is happy and grateful that it was him who Coach KZ picked.
