It seems that third time’s indeed a charm for young artist Krizel Mabalay as she finally made it to the blind auditions of The Voice Kids Season 5 after three tries! Despite her failures, she and her mom refused to give up her dream of showcasing her singing prowess on television and has now succeeded.
The 12-year-old aspirant from Nueva Ecija, who’s a proud daughter of an on-call driver dad and a housewife, started singing at the age of 3, with her mother as her vocal trainer. She trains by singing to their videoke at home and has already joined various singing competitions, from which her monetary winnings she gives to her mom to help with their utility bills.
While her family have been supportive of her, it’s unfortunately not the same with their neighbors who would often throw stones at their roof whenever they rehearse. However, they just choose not to confront them in order to not make things worse and keep the peace among them. When asked by host Bianca Gonzalez what her message is to them, Krizel simply pleaded for them to not do it anymore because their roof may already collapse if they’ll continue doing it.
Armed by the inspiration brought by her family, particularly her mom who’s been by her side every step of the way, she took on the stage with her impressive rendition of This Band’s “Hindi Na Nga” that made Coach Martin Nievera turn for her.
In her The Voice Kids DigiTV appearance, Krizel expressed how happy and excited she is now that she’s part of the competition, especially of MarTeam since the Concert King is one of the local artists that she truly looks up to.
She also once again asked their neighbors to stop hurling stones at their house since they’re not doing anything harmful to them and even reminded them to always stay safe despite of what they’ve to them.
