Kai Marmeto The Voice Kids Season 5

Olongapo City’s pride Kai Marmeto indeed received the best birthday gift for him at present as he amazingly made it to the blind auditions of The Voice Kids Season 5 a day after he turned 10 years old.

In his interview with host Robi Domingo, he divulged that he started singing at the age of 2 after his family, according to his Daddy Prince George, discovered him belting out Disney songs. Since everyone in their family can sing, he believes that it’s from them to whom he got his vocal prowess. After joining singing competitions at school and in their barangay, he’s now trying his luck in a reality talent search for the first time.

Since it’s his first time to have this kind of exposure, his supportive dad couldn’t help but feel anxious. But his pride towards him subdued it since it had been their long-time dream to join The Voice Kids. It might be a bit sad that his little sister Bryce wasn’t by his side that time, yet he considers her as his ultimate inspiration.

And that apparently worked as not only one, but two coaches turned for him – Martin Nievera and KZ Tandingan – because of his heartfelt rendition of Aegis’ “Hesus.” It might have caused a pseudo rift between them after the Concert King “blocked” the Asia’s Soul Supreme, but his father revealed to host Robi Domingo that he was really eyeing to be part of MarTeam.

During his The Voice Kids DigiTV interview, Kai was joined by his ever-supportive 8-year-old little sister Bryce, who expressed how proud and happy she is of her kuya. She also hopes that Kai will continue doing his best and fighting for his dreams. As she imparted that she could also sing, they heeded to hosts Jeremy G and Elha Nympha’s request for them to have a duet and performed “Sana Maulit Muli.”

Being the first young artist to experience the “block” for this season, Kai recounted how that shocked and amused him at the same time, especially the hilarious banters among the coaches. Now that he’s part of the MarTeam, he looks forward on learning different singing techniques from Coach Martin.

With regards to his inspirations in singing, Kai disclosed that it would be his family who are all talented in singing, except for his dad who, despite being his personal vocal trainer, is a frustrated singer according to him.
