Armed with her dream of having her overseas Filipina worker mother to finally go home for good, young artist Jade Casildo made sure to wow everyone, especially the coaches, with her vocal prowess during her blind audition for The Voice Kids Season 5.
As her mom is currently in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia where she has been working as a nurse since she was a baby, it was her pastor father who takes good care of her and accompanied her in her audition. According to them, she was only two and a half years old when she started singing nursery rhymes, with her Daddy Rhowel being her personal vocal trainer. And before setting her foot on the stage, she received a video message from her Mommy Erma, who reminded her to just believe in herself and wished her good luck.
Belting out Angeline Quinto’s “Patuloy Ang Pangarap,” the 11-year-old belter from Tarlac was able to make coaches Martin Nievera and Bamboo turn for her at the same time. But in the end, she opted to be part of the MarTeam.
In her The Voice Kids DigiTV interview, Jade recounted that prior to her performance, she was actually looking at the wall and only thought of positive things, which truly helped her deliver an impressive performance.
Since two coaches turned for her, she disclosed that she actually had a hard time choosing between them. However, she already knew who she wanted to mentor her during her blind audition – and that was apparently Coach Martin.
