The Killer Bride has been an incredible journey for both the actors and their viewers. But all good things must come to an end. As we bid farewell to the hit primetime teleserye, some of the cast members are talking about their experience on set. From the most memorable moments to lessons learned, here is what Janella Salvador, Geoff Eigenmann, Lara Quigaman and Miko Raval have to share!
“Medyo hard work talaga ‘yun,” Janella remembered whenever she had to act possessed. She had to copy Camila’s (Maja Salvador) mannerisms, among other challenges. Portraying Emma truly tested her as an actress. And as happy as she is with the results, she has to give credit to her co-stars and the directors who constantly helped and motivated her. “Emma is actually not just me, it’s teamwork,” Janella stated.
Portraying the ‘Killer Groom,‘ Lara realized that it is exhausting to be a kontrabida. Her emotions were on high and her anger was always so intense. She had to keep in mind, after shooting a scene, to let go of the character. “Hindi mo pwedeng dalhin outside of the scene kasi maraming tao ang maaapektuhan, hindi lang ikaw,” she explained. Aside from this, she also discovered that it is in fact harder to laugh than to cry on cue. But Lara’s favorite moments will have to be whenever they would all eat turon and other street food together behind the cameras.
Miko faced many firsts thanks to The Killer Bride. For the first time he cried over his own scenes. “I’m a very happy person. I don’t have the need to be sad in a regular day,” he described himself. He also got to try doing action sequences. “I never thought I could do that. Napapanood ko lang siya before,” he shared. This is Miko’s biggest role so far and he is thankful for the challenge, “Walang madaling eksena, for me. Tapos ‘yung mga kasabay ko pang mga artista kailangan mong sabayan, kailangan mong tapatan ‘yung galing nila.” He will definitely be using everything he learned here for his next role.
Geoff, despite his already extensive career in show business, also experienced many firsts because of this teleserye. The best of them is simply being part of the show which he feels broke the barriers of a television series.“ This is the most fulfilling and most challenging role that was ever presented to me,” he stated. Geoff admitted that he even doubted himself at first because he was not sure whether he can deliver what the role required. But with the help of the director and co-actors, they were able to bring the character to life, “We couldn’t be any more happy with that, especially me.”
“Honestly, nakakaiyak talaga na ang daming sumusuporta sa show namin. So, we want to thank you guys for loving all the characters of Las Espadas,” Janella expressed her gratitude. All the blood, sweat, tears and sleepless nights were worth it. Now, if there is one thing that viewers can take away from this drama, it is that you always have to look at the brighter side in life. “Kahit gaano pa kasama ang mundo sa’yo, ’wag mong hayaan na gawin ka ding masama,” Janella offered.
