The Killer Bride is quite known for its surprising plot twists and story arcs, and for a cast member, the hit teleserye provided one shock she did not see coming.
It was a call back to play a character she thought would appear only in the pilot episode.
For Sammie Rimando, playing Belinda dela Torre—the first “victim” of the rival clan De La Cuestas whose ghostly character resurfaces to also curse those behind her grisly death—was certainly a wonderful surprise.
So unexpected, she said, that she did not even have time to fully read the script before playing the character again in an intense, horrifying scene that reintroduced her role.
In the scene, Camilla dela Torre (Maja Salvador) had the shock of her life seeing Belinda in a dream, telling her she was the first victim of the De La Cuestas.
Sammie said she did not have time to prepare for the role because she was immediately called to the set to tape the scene. She recalled she was rehearsing for It’s Showtime’s Magpasikat at the Resorts Word Manila the night before the taping in October 2019.
She is thankful the scene turned out well, and thanked the production staff for helping her complete it.
“So nahirapan talaga ako pero buti na lang nagawa ko nang maayos sa tulong ng mga staff,” she said.
Sammie added that she was “comfortable and fun” working with the cast off-screen, unlike the intense scenes we witness on-screen.
Dami niyang dalang pagkain,” Sammie reveals.
Aside from Maja’s character Camilla, Sammie said her favorite character on the teleserye is Tsoknat, played by Pamu Pamorada.
“Kasi nakakatawa ‘yung character niya eh. Alam mo ’yung parang intense ’yung eksena tapos pagdating kay Pamu parang nabe-break ’yung intensity. Ano lang balance lang,” she said.
In inviting viewers to the final week of The Killer Bride Sammie gave an intriguing question, which may again lead to yet another surprising twist.
“Sino ba talaga ang The Killer Bride?”
