Just when we thought that she’s one of those good souls among the people surrounding Camila (Maja Salvador), we were all surprised when it was revealed that Alice (Lara Quigaman) is actually the main villain in the well-loved and highly talked about primetime series The Killer Bride.
With the sweet and pleasant personality she brandished, which is complemented by her smiting beauty, nobody certainly thought that she would later on turn out to be the most terrible enemy that our beloved heroine, along with her allies, would ever face.
As we join Camila in her journey towards finding out the truth and seeking justice for everything that happened to her life and her loved ones, we’re able to discover that she was actually one of the masterminds behind the murder of Javier (Dominic Ochoa), to which Camila was wrongfully accused of. Besides, it was also revealed that she had an illicit affair with her brother-in-law Luciano (Cris Villanueva) and that she’s the real “killer groom”!
Being usually given protagonist roles throughout her more than a decade showbiz career, seeing her as a wicked antagonist on the series is arguably refreshing for some of us. Thus, during Entertainment.ABS-CBN.com exclusive interview with her recently, we asked her reaction about the sudden shift in her career, which was definitely one of the biggest and most appalling plot twists in The Killer Bride!
“Sobra akong nag-enjoy. Actually, sinabi nila sa'kin before pa lang mag-start kung ano 'yong role ko, na gano'n nga, na ako 'yong main villain. Pero ‘di ako naniwala kasi akala ko lahat kami sinabihan na kami ‘yong ‘killer’. So akala ko, ‘Sus sinabi lang ‘yan para isipin namin lahat na kami ‘yung ‘killer’,” Lara recalled.
Then the 37-year-old beauty queen-turned-actress added, “Sobra akong thankful dahil sobrang great opportunity talaga na gano’n na from mabait, tapos medyo baliw, loka-loka, salbahe. So it was really, really such a great opportunity.”
Meanwhile, when asked regarding how was working with the whole ensemble, she has nothing but good words for them, especially to Maja to whom she has worked with for the second time and who she described as “always a joy to work with” and the most caring. She also expressed how much she’s going to miss each one of them.
“Mami-miss ko siyempre lahat ng mga katrabaho ko, sina direk, pati ‘yung staff. Kasi kahit parang may mga times na sobrang seryoso ng mga eksena, sobrang intense, kapag nanood ka talaga behind-the-scene, makikita mo okay, kulitan. 'Pag take biglang intense na lahat. Sobrang miss ko ‘yong mga tao actually,” she imparted.
Now that The Killer Bride is now on its final week, of course, we didn’t forget to ask her on what more should we expect in the remaining episodes, to which she hinted that we’re going to be in for more mind-boggling twists and surprises.
“Sobrang dami pang mangyayari and ihanda n’yo na ang mga puso n’yo kasi ako no'ng binabasa ko 'yong script ko, umiiyak ako. Tapos sabi ko, "bakit? bakit?", so ganun ako 'pag nagbabasa ako ng script. So I'm sure na kung kami mismo na alam na namin ‘yong mangyayari sobra kaming apektado, sobra kaming nag-eenjoy sa kuwento, lalo na 'yong viewers,” Lara conveyed.
