Ever since The Killer Bride began to haunt our evenings a month ago, our primetime viewing habit has grown more thrilling (and terrifying!) indeed. Its gothic-drama theme makes it totally different from the previous teleseryes we’ve seen on that block, with its remarkable ensemble, exciting storyline, and well-written script making it worth the hype and of our time and effort to stay up late at night.
Just on its first four weeks, a lot of secrets have been revealed. Unknown stories have been unravelled that completely blew our minds and made us feel being ‘scammed’ all along after it was finally exposed that Camila Dela Torre (Maja Salvador) is still alive and very much propelled to exact revenge against those people who crossed her in the past. So apparently, Emma’s (Janella Salvador) possessions were all just for the show and to cause scare to the people of Las Espadas, as what her foster guardian Camila has ever precisely wanted to do.
With the tremendous success of The Killer Bride and the consistent cheers it receives from the avid viewers, Janella couldn’t hide her happiness and gratitude when Entertainment.ABS-CBN.com had a quick chat with her recently.
“Gusto kong mag-thank you sa lahat ng nagsu-support ng Killer Bride kasi ‘di ko talaga inexpect. Nakakatuwa kasi to read tweets na naaappreciate nila ‘yong character ko kasi it’s actually the most challenging character I’ve ever done before. So, thank you so much,” she stated.
Apart from the audiences and netizens, she’s also thankful to her real-life aunt, and brilliant coach Maja who gave her an exclusive acting workshop to help her compellingly depict Camila.
The 21-year-old actress-singer then went on to impart how she used to be so pressured not only by her fellow cast members, but especially by their director Dado Lumibao, to always do great since the success of the show mostly depends on her performance. But more than undergoing a series of workshops and trainings on horseback riding, what made her fully prepared to do the role is to simply embrace it.

“I guess ang preparation lang na ginawa ko no’ng una was, of course aside from the horseback training and the embalming training at saka workshops, in-embrace ko lang fully ‘yong character kasi I believe na ang ganda kasi talaga ng ibinigay sa aking character – si Emma. To be able to portray her, it’s an honor. Sobrang ganda talaga. Sobrang daming pwedeng gawin sa character ni Emma,” she enthused.
When asked about the most difficult scene she had done to date, she said that every scene was a challenge for her. But it’s probably those moments when she was required to walk anywhere barefoot, thus she’s glad that it’s finally over.
So what should we look forward on the upcoming episodes of the top-rating drama? Here’s what she enthusiastically told us:
“Marami. Marami pa kaming pasabog. Abangan n’yo ‘yong kwento ng bawat character kasi bawat character sa Killer Bride meron silang back story na essential sa magiging kwento. Hay naku, basta abangan n’yo lahat ng pasabog ni Camila, ni Emma, pamilya Dela Torre, Dela Cuesta, lahat!”
Continue showering Janella with your love, Kapamilya, by not missing an episode of The Killer Bride, weeknights on Primetime Bida.
