Emma’s deeply troubled heart seems to grow more comfortable and safe in Elias’ presence. Yet, the sense of remorse and fear always make her feel unworthy of Elias’ affection and kindness.
Still, no matter how many times Emma shuts him out, Elias keeps himself close to Emma especially in her most fragile moments.
Emma and Elias join a Mud Festival parade in Buenna Tierra which Emma takes advantage of, believing that smearing her body with mud and washing it afterwards would cleanse her sins away.
Later, they have fun at the carnival where Elias finally sees genuine happiness in Emma’s smiles. That night, Elias takes the courage to profess his feelings for Emma, calling her the blinding light he would always want to stare at. Elias pours his heart out, not just to unload his feelings but to soothe Emma’s sorrow.
A guilt-stricken Emma runs away after Elias’ sincere confession. While she’s alone in the middle of the road, Emma sees the haunting image of the killer bride again. She begins to suffer from panic attacks until Elias, who was running after her, came to her rescue. Emma’s memory of her abduction slowly gets clearer. She recalls seeing a shadow of a man inside the cave and hearing the words ‘Belladonna’.
Elias says Belladonna is a kind of plant that causes hallucinations.
Before heading home the next day, Emma and Elias drop by at the mental institution where Manoy Andres (Soliman Cruz) is confined. Emma tries to get information from Manoy Andres, asking him he has seen a man’s shadow in the cave as well. However, Emma’s queries only trigger Manoy Andres’ delirium.
Elias drops Emma off at Dako Paroon. Before leaving, he boldly asks if he stands a chance with Emma. Elias gets his heart broken again when Emma fails to give any answer.
As Elias leaves, Emma faces Manay Ichu (Malou de Guzman) to apologize for making her feel worried. She, then, decides to spend some time alone. By her lonesome, Emma recollects her fond memories with Elias so far. Emma’s daydreaming is interrupted; and her gloom turns into fright as she sees someone approaching her.
