Caught up by the situation, Tatiana (Ariella Arida) is left without a choice but to break her silence on her connection with Justino, the blackmail involving Juan Felipe (James Blanco), and her attempt to use Emma (Janella Salvador) as a lure. Tatiana begins her narrative by saying she was raped by Justino at the age of seventeen, on her first Ladies Society Ball appearance. She kept mum about the incident in her desire to protect her beloved brother, Juan Felipe’s reputation.
Tatiana cries out all the pain she kept on hiding; as well as her resentment towards her family for making her feel alone and unappreciated. Alice (Lara Quigaman) confronts Juan Felipe which results to a brawl between the latter and Luciano (Cris Villanueva).
That night, Alice attempts to drive Juan Felipe away. She can no longer bear her husband’s selfishness and malevolence but her boldness only results to an evening of violence. Juan Felipe beats up Alice, as he always does.
Emma hears Alice’s cry for help and Juan Felipe’s threatening voice. She dauntlessly opens the door to the husband and wife’s room and catches Alice crying at a corner, begging Juan Felipe to stop. Emma bravely meddles with the commotion and comforts Alice but only to become Juan Felipe’s target this time. Emma bows her head down as she receives Juan Felipe’s powerful slap on her face. Then, she slowly composes herself and acts possessed by Camila’s (Maja Salvador) soul.
The next morning, Tatiana approaches Emma and seeks for her forgiveness although, she does not expect Emma to accept the apology. Emma has obviously grown closer to the family she is just supposed to spy on. She expresses her regret for all the miseries that Tatiana has secretly gone through and wishes that the latter would no longer hesitate to ask for support. Tatiana hugs Emma and promises to clear her name from all the allegations concerning Justino’s murder.
Tatiana heads off to the precinct with Donya Guada (Aurora Sevilla) to provide her statement while Luis (Sam Concepcion) stays behind. Emma expresses her curiosity on Luis’ agenda for that day. Upon knowing that the young Councilor is off to a charity drive, Emma volunteers to tag along with him.
At the outreach program, Emma and Luis share a heartfelt conversation about last night’s incident. Luis’ actions manifest his feelings of embarrassment at the thought of Emma witnessing his father’s roughness.
Emma smiles at Luis to soothe his despair. Emma says she would opt to remember how Alice displayed unconditional love for Luis that night rather than dwell on the family’s dispute. Placing her hands on Luis’ arm, Emma assures him that she can be trusted.
Elias (Joshua Garcia) coincidentally catches the earnest moment between Emma and Luis. He gazes at them while his eyes speak volumes of jealousy.
