While doing his works in the flower farm, Elias (Joshua Garcia) finds a letter left by Matias (Manuel Chua). The letter narrates Matias’ regrets for living a life away from his son. Matias says he often wondered about Elias and how he was growing up. But he knows that it is no longer the best hour to dwell on remorse and what could have been. Rather, Matias decides that it is the proper time to make things right.
Matias claims that he is not benevolent enough to surrender himself but he is willing to help Camila (Maja Salvador) find the killer groom. Afterwards, he would leave Las Espadas, believing that it is the right thing to do to save Elias from all the grief he has caused.
Matias tells how much he loves his son, albeit he knows he wouldn’t be able to prove so. “Aalis akong payapa ang puso dahil alam kong hindi ka kagaya ko, kaya mong manindigan sa tama,” says the last line in Matias’ touching letter.
Elias silently tears up upon reading his father’s note.
The scene cuts to Matias held captive in a dark room. He screams out for help and attempts to bang the door open but to no avail. A stream of poisonous gas gushes inside the room, taking Matias’ consciousness. Agnes (Mara Lopez) opens the door to check on her hostage.
