In a series of flashbacks, a young Emma (Janella Salvador) was shown trying to please Camila (Maja Salvador) who was too obsessed with perfection. Camila displayed her authoritarian and stern character towards Emma who got a grade of 90 in her Math subject. Camila went furious and demanded Emma to aim for a perfect score instead.
In the next scene, Fabio (Miko Raval) dropped off Emma at school. Emma saw a classmate bidding her mother goodbye with tight embrace and kisses. Emma appeared sad as she wished that Camila may be able to accompany her to school one day.
Despite the gloom, Emma understood Camila’s situation. She put the blame on those who wronged Camila, saying Camila could have had the freedom if not because of the false accusations people have thrown at her. Emma pitied Camila for living in a world full of grief.
The child promised to do well in Math in order to make Camila happy and proud. Fabio lifted Emma’s spirits up and assured her that he is proud of her and she no longer needs to impress him. Fabio appeared affectionate towards Emma whom he has already learned to love as his own child.
Later on, Emma got reprimanded for having seven mistakes in her Math exam. Camila also caught Emma and her nanny playing with improvised microphones. Emma dreamt of pursuing music, which Camila disapproved. Instead, Camila ordered Emma to focus on Mathematics, which can be a good background in business someday.
Fabio consoled Emma who was still feeling down due to Camila’s temper. He reminded Emma the he loves her and he will never regret treating her like his own daughter. Fabio assured Emma that even Camila feels the same way as well, but Camila is still in grief from all the pain others has caused her. Fabio urged Emma to remain patient with Camila.
In the middle of her sleep, Emma suddenly woke up to Camila’s loud cry in the other room. Emma carefully went near and embraced Camila who kept on calling Vida’s name while weeping.
