Throughout the near half-year run of The Killer Bride, one character that really brings so much mystery and wonder as we see her story develop and transform with so many shocking twists and turns is Emma, played magnificently by Janella Salvador.
As she truly took our undivided attention since Day 1, as her real identity becomes more evident, we notice so many things about Emma that are truly peculiar and distinctive. It seemed her characterization was so effective that even her look has been incredibly consistent.
Apart from her Janella’s impressive portrayal, what is quite obvious is her inherent style that never seems to fade, leaving a lasting impact to viewers watching this surreal gothic horror drama.
What we see is that Emma wears one type of outfit that seems to be her most favorite garb: the puffed-sleeved top.
Right off from the first scene entering Las Espadas, to her first encounter with Elias, her face-offs with the Dela Torres, and even as the “medium” of Camila in seeking revenge, Emma apparently wears that same garment.
It shows how it “inflates” her presence on screen, or gives a mystic swag to her every move--whether on top of a horse or on foot.
It may be a style call from the production designers or a personal choice of Janella herself to give justice to her character, either way it gives much more mystery and power to the role.
Check out these photos to marvel at how she consistently wears the same style of outfit throughout the series.
How will the tale of Emma, the “queen” of the puffed sleeved top, end on The Killer Bride?
