4 “two-faced” characters who deceived us all on The Killer Bride

Unlike other the other teleseryes we have seen that continually surprised us with the entrance of new characters in their continuously expanding narrative, The Killer Bride notably stuck by its small ensemble and focused on developing the story arcs of each character.

Thus, throughout its five-month run, viewers were left bewildered and shocked with everything that has been going on and the mind-boggling turn of events in the program, which include the unexpected transformations of a few of its characters.

As the well-loved primetime series approaches its thrilling conclusion this week, let’s take a look back on the four ‘two-faced’ personalities who did a great job in deceiving us with the good and bad sides they brandished.

Agnes Sagrado

Good

Introduced by Manay Ichu (Malou de Guzman) as “kaibigan ni Camila (Maja Salvador) hanggang huli”, we all arguably assumed that Agnes (Mara Lopez) was going to be an ally to our feisty heroine. Besides, her timid and dainty aura, as well as her innocent-looking face and sweet, indeed made us all believe that she’s a good soul.

However, it was revealed through a flashback that she’s actually an accomplice of Camila’s treacherous Uncle Luciano (Cris Villanueva).

Bad

After so many weeks of keeping us guessing and theorizing about the real identity of the ‘killer bride’, it was later on unveiled and we were all horrified to see Agnes behind the bloody wedding gown.

Apart from this grand exposé, another thing that shocked us were the confessions she made during her scorching confrontation with Camila, in which she revealed that she never considered her as a friend, but a rival instead. The Dela Torre heiress was the reason why her own mother looked down at her and why all of her plans in the past got ruined.

Alice Montero-Dela Torre

Good

With her angelic façade and prim and proper demeanor, as well as the exquisiteness she radiated, we were all complacent that she’s going to be among the good characters who got Camila’s back. She’d been a doting mom to her own son Luis (Sam Concepcion), a submissive wife to Juan Felipe (James Blanco), obedient daughter to her in-laws, and a loving aunt to Camila, who tried her best to attend to the needs of the Dela Torre family.

There might be instances when her efforts were gone overlooked, especially by her husband who badly maltreated her sometimes, Alice still chose to be mum and be composed for the sake of keeping the reputation of their family.

Bad

Unfortunately, her arresting beauty and admirable personality were just cover-ups for the wicked misdeeds she committed off the public’s eyes. Unbeknownst to us, she had an illicit affair with her brother-in-law Luciano, who eventually became her partner-in-crime as she encouraged him to accept the whopping offer of a bigtime drug syndicate in exchange of helping them transport drugs through their produce.

She was also revealed as one of the brains of setting up Camila in the murder of Javier (Dominic Ochoa) and later on as the ‘killer groom’ who’s the real culprit behind some of the horrifying deaths in Las Espadas, with Fabio (Miko Raval) and Camila being two of her poor victims.

Aurora Bonaobra

Good

By simply adopting Emma (Janella Salvador) when she was still a baby and asking for her forgiveness after abandoning her when she was only seven years old, it was easy for us to conclude that we could count on Aurora (Maricel Morales) as an ally. Besides, she even tried to persuade Emma to leave Las Espadas on the very moment that they met again as she wanted to keep her away from harm.

Bad

Sadly, just like everyone in this list, Aurora has been keeping a dark secret all along – that she’s the suspect in the arson that engulfed the correctional facility where Camila got incarcerated and lost her beloved baby daughter Vida. She confessed to Emma that she only did that because it was ordered by Luciano, to whom she had a huge debt due to her drug addiction.

Emma Bonaobra

Good

Possessing a lovely and beatific face complemented by her modest and gentle persona, it was truly not difficult to get smitten with Emma, whose arrival in Las Espadas brought a lot of changes in the once-peaceful town. She made everyone fall for her sweetness and kindness and easily got the favor of the Dela Torre family, as she brandished the same traits as the “late” Camila, who she claimed was possessing her then. With her unmistakable beauty and big heart in helping other people, she even swept Elias off his feet from the first time that they met.

Bad

Yet, Emma only proved that looks could indeed be deceiving as it was later on revealed that her ‘possession’ episodes were only a part of the bigger “show” Emma had prepared for the people of Las Espadas. She’s really not possessed by Camila’s spirit for every move she made and every word she said were actually dictated by her, who turned out to be her adoptive mother. As she flashed the sly smirk she usually does everytime she got possessed, we knew that the townsfolks were in for more doses of horror and tension until she and Camila would attain what they came for.
