The General’s Daughter has been a rollercoaster ride for Claire and Ivan. Behind the scenes, however, Loisa Andalio and Ronnie Alonte were having a much more exciting adventure. From the memorable scenes to working with the best in the industry, the two learned a lot during their time on the set of the primetime series.
Throughout this entire journey, Loisa will always remember the hectic schedules. “Nagmamadali kami kasi marami pang eksenang kukunan,” she described. “Ako ‘yung pagka pinagsasabihan ako ni direk,” Ronnie fondly shared his own experience with director Emmanuel Palo. Although, they both consider every moment as a favorite, especially all the fight scenes and LoiNie scenes. This action role was a dream come true for the Hashtag member. Meanwhile, she simply believes in performing as if it is her last project.
Of course, this was also a learning experience for the tandem. Working with some of the industry’s veterans was nerve-racking. “Parang nakakahiya magkamali,” Loisa explained. Eventually, after getting to know their co-star, they became relaxed and started to have fun which encouraged them to do their best at every shoot.
Typically, love teams are cast in either romantic comedies or romantic dramas. So, for LoiNie to be part of this action-drama is a challenge for them as well as something refreshing for Kapamilyas to watch. “Maganda na mahirap,” he expressed. Their scenes with Angel Locsin, Paulo Avelino, JC De Vera and Albert Martinez brought out a different side to their roles compared to when the scenes were between the two of them alone. This pushed them to explore more about their craft and learn more about their characters.
Hopefully Loisa and Ronnie’s portrayal of Claire and Ivan can help the viewers realize something too—how to trust someone despite any doubts. “Kung paano nila maha-handle ‘yung pagtitiwala kahit maraming hadlang o sagabal sa magkabilang side,” she stated.
