Tiyago (Tirso Cruz III) orders his men to prepare a package containing an explosive device. His “exploding present” would bring him two gifts in return – penalizing a mall owner who resists in paying the monthly taxes he set, and cutting Rhian’s (Angel Locsin) ties with the military.
Upon knowing Tiyago’s plans of blasting the Ricarte Mall, Rhian immediately calls Marcial (Albert Martinez) to give him an update. But their conversation is abruptly cut when Amelia (Janice de Belen) suddenly enters her room. Hinting her doubts, Amelia wonders why Rhian is always locking herself up in the room. Rhian simply smiles and shakes her head.
Rhian quickly moves as she heads off to the mall to save the civilians from the explosion. But Franco (Paulo Avelino) intrudes and tries to stop her. Franco suspects Rhian of secretly communicating with someone as she drops her phone amidst their squabble.
He scolds Rhian for handling things in her own hands. Their argument goes back again to Rhian’s weakness – her emotions. He asserts that Rhian’s promises of making it up with Tiyago doesn’t reflect in her actions. But Rhian no longer cares what Franco or others would say. She is just completely determined to come in rescue for the innocent people who are going to become victims of Tiyago’s selfishness.
Franco orders Rhian to come with her and talk to Tiyago. Since Rhian’s phone is still in Franco’s pocket, she pretends adhering to his demand. Yet, she takes a sturdy material and hits Franco in the head.
As soon as Franco regains consciousness, he dashes to Tiyago and Amelia to report. Amelia urges Tiyago to dispatch Rhian but he simply remains deaf to what Franco and Amelia said.
